Potassium Titanate
Potassium titanates have eventually entered into formulations in the so-called “non asbestos organic” (NAO) materials, because they offered an alternative fiber-like material to replace asbestos, in order to provide a suitable framework for friction materials. Potassium titanates have a high melting point of around 1300 °C and have excellent abrasion resistance and stability of μ (coefficient of friction).
